Writing scenes in the editor
The Write view is a full-screen prose editor. Each scene has its own content area, and scenes scroll continuously so you can read across chapter breaks without switching pages.
Opening the Write view
From the Plan view, click any scene name to jump directly to it in the Write view. The Write view remembers your last position and returns you there when you reopen the draft.
The toolbar
The persistent toolbar at the top provides:
- Bold, Italic, formatting shortcuts
- Undo / Redo
- Heading levels (H2, H3)
- Version snapshot — save a named point-in-time copy of the current scene
- Search — open the full-text search panel on the right
- AI Assist — open the write assist panel (requires an API key)
- Beta — launch or manage a beta campaign for this draft
Codex entity highlighting
Entity names recognized from your Codex are highlighted in amber. Hover over a highlighted name to see a popup with the entity's state at the scene's exact in-world date — so if a character has a different name in an earlier era, the popup reflects that.
Navigation
The scene list is visible in a collapsible left panel. Click any scene to jump to it. The scene you're currently writing is highlighted in the list.
Saving
Content saves automatically as you type. You'll see a brief "Saved" indicator in the toolbar. There is no manual save needed.
