Content Policy

Effective Date: July 12, 2026

This Content Policy describes what content is permitted on The Stream Facility, how we moderate the Platform, and your rights if we take action on your content. It applies to all content created, shared, or published on the Platform, including works in progress, published works, Codex entries, comments, and profile information.

Permitted Content

The Stream Facility is a platform for creative writers. You may:
- Write original fiction in any genre, including mature themes where appropriately labeled
- Create fictional worlds, characters, series, and lore in your Codex
- Share works with beta readers for feedback and collaboration
- Publish completed or in-progress works to the public lobby
- Use AI writing assistance to develop, draft, and refine your stories

Prohibited Content

The following content is not permitted on the Platform. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity.

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Any content — regardless of fictional framing — that sexualises minors. See the Child Safety section below for our mandatory reporting obligations.

Incitement and terrorism: Content that incites, glorifies, or instructs real-world violence, terrorism, or mass harm.

Harassment and stalking: Content designed to harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a specific real individual, including coordinated harassment campaigns.

Doxxing: Publishing private personal information about real individuals (home address, phone number, financial details, medical information) without their consent.

Intellectual property infringement: Reproducing substantial portions of copyrighted works you do not own without authorisation. Fan fiction and clearly transformative works are generally permitted provided they are properly labelled and do not reproduce verbatim extracts at length.

Spam and manipulation: Artificially inflating engagement metrics, creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or tier limits, submitting false DMCA notices (which carries civil liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f)), or posting unsolicited commercial content.

Impersonation: Creating an account or publishing content that falsely represents you as another real person, author, or organisation.

Child Safety

We have a zero-tolerance policy for content that sexualises minors in any form. This prohibition applies without exception to all fictional, illustrated, AI-generated, or written content. Upon discovery of such content, we will:

1. Immediately remove the content and terminate the account
2. Report the content and user to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A
3. Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations

Adult Content

Mature themes, violence, and sexually explicit content are permitted in fiction provided:
- The work is appropriately labelled when sharing or publishing
- No real individuals are depicted without their consent
- No minors (real or fictional) are sexualised

We reserve the right to apply age-appropriate access controls to content labelled as adult material.

AI-Generated Content

You may use AI writing assistance to develop your stories. If you publish a work to the public lobby that is substantially or entirely generated by AI with minimal human creative contribution, you should label it as AI-assisted or AI-generated in the work description. This disclosure helps readers make informed choices and protects your credibility as an author. We may introduce mandatory AI disclosure requirements in the future if required by applicable law (such as the EU AI Act).

Your Intellectual Property

You retain all intellectual property rights to content you create on the Platform. We will not use your creative works to train AI models, for advertising, or for any purpose beyond providing the service to you without your explicit written permission.

Third-Party Intellectual Property

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your intellectual property, see our DMCA Policy.

Content Scanning

We do not proactively scan or read your private creative works (drafts, unpublished manuscripts, Codex entries). Moderation is complaint-driven unless content is reported to us or we are compelled to act by a lawful authority. Published works visible in the public lobby may be reviewed following a report.

Moderation and Enforcement

When content violates this Policy, we may:
- Remove or restrict the specific content
- Issue a warning
- Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanently terminate your account

For all enforcement actions except emergency removals involving CSAM or imminent safety threats, we will notify you of:
- The specific content affected
- The provision of this Policy that was violated
- The action taken
- Your right to appeal

Appeals

If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at https://streamfacility.com/contact within 30 days of the action. Include your account email, a description of the content at issue, and why you believe the action was incorrect. We will review your appeal and respond within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by a person who was not involved in the original decision.

This appeals mechanism fulfils the internal complaint-handling requirement under Article 20 of the EU Digital Services Act for users based in the EU.

To report content that violates this Policy, contact us at: https://streamfacility.com/contact Please include the URL or title of the content and a brief description of the concern. We do not accept anonymous reports but will keep your identity confidential from the reported user.

Changes

We may update this Content Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before changes take effect.
