Studio & Writing
Scene version control and snapshots
The Studio lets you save named snapshots of any scene or the entire manuscript, so you can experiment freely and roll back if needed.
Scene snapshots
In the Write view, open a scene and click Version in the toolbar. Name the snapshot (e.g. "Before revision 2") and save.
Snapshots capture the full content of that scene at that moment. You can have as many snapshots as you like per scene.
Viewing and restoring snapshots
Click the Versions button in the scene toolbar to open the snapshot history. Each version shows:
- Name and timestamp
- A diff preview against the current content
Click Restore to overwrite the current scene with that version. Your current content is automatically saved as "Auto-save before restore" before the restore happens.
Manuscript-level snapshots
From the Studio header, click Snapshot to capture the state of the entire draft — all scenes at once. This is useful at major milestones (end of a first draft, before a structural rewrite, etc.).
Beta reader revision badges
When you're running a beta campaign, approved readers see a revision badge if you've updated the manuscript since they last read a scene. This lets them know content has changed without revealing what changed.
