AI Write Assist
Prompt templates and the custom library
Beyond the four built-in modes, the AI write assist panel supports a library of prompt templates — reusable prompts with variable placeholders.
Built-in templates
The platform ships with six templates:
- Scene opener — writes an opening paragraph for a new scene given a brief
- Dialogue polish — tightens a dialogue exchange
- Tension ramp — escalates the stakes in a selected passage
- Sensory layer — adds environmental and sensory detail to a passage
- Pacing check — identifies where a scene drags and suggests cuts
- Villain voice — rewrites selected dialogue in a more menacing register
Using a template
- Open the AI panel in the Write view
- Click Templates at the top of the panel
- Select a template from the list
- Fill in any variable placeholders (e.g. character name, setting)
- Click Run
Creating your own templates
Click + New Template in the Templates panel. Give it a name, write the prompt body, and use curly-brace syntax for any values you want to fill in at run time.
Forking a built-in template
Click the menu on any built-in template and choose Fork. This creates a copy in your library that you can modify freely without affecting the original.
