Inline comments and reader threads

Beta readers leave feedback directly on scenes as inline comments, which you can reply to from the Write view.

How readers comment

Approved readers reading your manuscript can highlight any portion of text in a scene and click Comment. They write their note and submit — it appears as a thread anchored to that text position.

Viewing comments as an author

In the Write view, scenes with open comments show a comment count badge in the scene list. Open a scene to see all comment threads in the right panel.

Each thread shows:

• The highlighted passage
• The reader's comment
• Your previous replies and any follow-up from the reader

Replying

Click Reply under any thread to respond. The reader is notified of your reply via the notification system. Threads support full back-and-forth conversation.

Campaign scope

Comments are scoped to the campaign — readers in different campaigns leave separate threads, so feedback from one reading group doesn't mix with another's.

Revision tracking

If you update a scene after a reader has commented, the reader sees a "Scene updated" badge on that scene so they know content has changed.
