Author & Creator Agreement
Version 1.0 — Effective [DATE]
This Author & Creator Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Stream Facility ("Platform," "we," "us," or "our") and the individual creating an account ("you," "Author," or "Creator"). By creating an account and accepting this Agreement during registration, you agree to be bound by its terms.
1. About Stream Facility
Stream Facility is an online writing, publishing, and manuscript collaboration platform that provides tools for authors to write, organise, and share their creative work with readers and beta readers. Stream Facility is a software and hosting service — it is not a publisher, literary agent, editor, or co-author of any work created on the platform.
2. Account Registration and Security
2.1 You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater, to create an account.
2.2 You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account information current.
2.3 You are solely responsible for your account security. You must keep your password confidential and must not share your login credentials with any other person. All activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility.
2.4 You may not sell, transfer, sublicense, or assign your account to any other person or entity.
2.5 Each individual may register only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, bans, or feature limitations is prohibited.
2.6 You agree to notify Stream Facility immediately at contact us if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account, or any other security breach.
3. Your Intellectual Property
3.1 You own your work — completely. All manuscripts, stories, characters, scenes, world-building elements, dialogue, plots, outlines, notes, artwork, and any other creative content you create, upload, or publish on Stream Facility ("Your Content") remain your exclusive intellectual property. Stream Facility makes no claim of ownership, co-authorship, editorial control, or any other rights over Your Content.
3.2 Limited licence for platform operation. To provide the platform's services — including storing, displaying, transmitting, and backing up your work — you grant Stream Facility a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the platform on your behalf. This licence does not permit Stream Facility to sell, sublicence, modify, adapt, or use Your Content for any commercial purpose beyond operating the platform.
3.3 This licence ends when your content is deleted. When you delete Your Content or close your account, the licence described in Section 3.2 terminates, subject only to any standard backup retention periods described in our Privacy Policy. Stream Facility will not retain or use Your Content after deletion.
3.4 You warrant you own what you upload. By uploading or publishing content, you represent and warrant that you are the original creator, or that you hold all necessary rights, licences, and permissions to do so. You represent that Your Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
4. Content Standards
4.1 You are solely responsible for all content you create and publish on Stream Facility.
4.2 You agree not to upload, publish, or share content that:
- Infringes the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party
- Is plagiarised from another author's work without proper licence or attribution
- Sexually exploits or depicts the abuse of minors in any form
- Constitutes defamation, harassment, or unlawful threats directed at any individual
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law
4.3 Stream Facility reserves the right to remove content that violates this Agreement, with or without prior notice.
5. Beta Readers and Manuscript Sharing
5.1 Stream Facility provides tools that allow you to share manuscripts with beta readers for feedback and review. You retain full control over who can access your work at all times.
5.2 You are solely responsible for managing your beta reader relationships, including any non-disclosure agreements, feedback terms, or other arrangements you wish to make with readers. Stream Facility provides the tools; it is not a party to any agreement between you and your readers.
5.3 Stream Facility accepts no responsibility for any disputes arising from author-reader relationships formed through the platform.
6. What Stream Facility Is Not
6.1 Stream Facility is a software and hosting service. It is not a literary agent, publisher, editor, business partner, or co-creator.
6.2 Stream Facility does not guarantee any commercial outcome for your work. The platform provides tools and visibility features; your success as an author is your own.
6.3 Stream Facility does not read, evaluate, or use your manuscripts for any purpose other than operating the platform on your behalf.
7. Subscriptions and Billing
7.1 Stream Facility offers free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid tier, you agree to the pricing and billing terms presented at the time of subscription.
7.2 Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as described in our Refund Policy.
7.3 Stream Facility reserves the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.
8. Account Termination
8.1 You may close your account at any time through Dashboard → Settings. We encourage you to export your work before closing your account.
8.2 Stream Facility may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach this Agreement, after providing notice where reasonably practicable. Violations involving illegal content or active harm to others may result in immediate termination without notice.
8.3 Upon account closure, Your Content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to This Agreement
Stream Facility may update this Agreement from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect, and will require your re-acceptance before you can continue using the service.
10. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vermont.
